Jervis Inlet, Chatterbox Falls, Whales & Wildlife

Witness the splendour of Jervis Inlet's many Waterfalls. Visit Chatterbox Falls, Encounter Whales & Wildlife along the way for an amazing full day adventure. Jervis Inlet is a magical fjord where warm sun melts the mountain snowpack which creates as many as 60 waterfalls cascading down massive granite walls of the coastal fjord. Jervis Inlet and Princess Louisa Inlets are fjords carved out by glaciers and has three arms, or reaches – Prince of Wales Reach, Princess Royal Reach and Queen’s Reach. Princess Louisa Reach is a side inlet off Queen’s Reach. At the end of Princess Louisa Reach is the stunning Chatterbox Falls tumbling 40 metres to the rocky shoreline below. Our full day adventure explores the Salish Sea for whale and wildlife while traveling to Jervis Inlet. There are chances to encounter Biggs Killer Whales, Humpback Whales, Pacific White Sided Dolphins, Sea Lions, Bears and Bald Eagles. Then experience the many waterfalls of Jervis Inlet on the way to Malibu Rapids and beyond to Chatterbox Falls. Stretch your legs on land and explore out the falls. Our guests are welcome to bring along a packed lunch or add on a gourmet packed lunch from Parksville for your adventure.

Wildlife Spotting

We collaborate with many different whale and wildlife spotting networks as well as researchers, ferry captains, land based spotters, float plane pilots and commercial mariners. You will often find our captains scanning for whales and wildlife from the French Creek Marina breakwater before your adventure with us.

Professional Guide

Ocean Ecoventures’ Captains and Naturalists are in this job for the long haul! We are not part time summer staff. This really shines through on our trips in the form of expert interpretation on the wildlife and landscapes encountered. When our passengers see whales, they get to know exactly who that whale is, their siblings, their mothers and their personalities!

Interactive Tour Map

Log in to a digital map of your adventure with us and see the route your boat traveled with pin drop locations showing where the whales and wildlife were encountered. Help your captain take data for whale and wildlife sightings on your adventure with us. Our whale and wildlife sightings database and whale I.D. images are shared with local researchers.

Packages Available

Waterfall, Whales & Wildlife packages available with many of our accommodation partners in Parksville and Qualicum Beach. Gourmet packed lunches from an amazing local food company in Parksville are available for an add on for this adventure.

“There is a calm tranquility which stretches from the smooth surface of the reflecting water straight up into infinity. The deep calm of eternal silences is only disturbed by the muffled roar of throbbing waterfalls as they plunge down from sheer cliffs. There is no scenery in the world that can beat it. Not that I’ve seen the rest of the world. I don’t need to, I’ve seen Princess Louisa Inlet.”
